Lambach's Legion Munich, September 27, 2003 The tournament saw 13 players, 3 of them new. We had three guests from Vienna who arrived late and missed the first round. Michael RØtter was one of the new guys. He played an efficient Lasombra stealth bleed deck that probably attracted a little more attention than it could handle. Made 1 VP in his first round though. He had to leave after the second game. Andreas AltnÃder, also a new face, brought Assamites. Many clan locations, combat based on Dagon's Call - a bit unusual, but he came close to a VP in his second game and timed out in the third. Christian Kremer, the third new player, had a Tremere bleed deck. Never played against him, but he collected 1,5 VP in the first round. BjÃrn Schmale delighted us with on of his well-known massive Ventrue vote decks. He didn't score on the day, mainly due to then many vote decks around and shifting table politics. Erwin Dworzak met the same problems with his monster Toreador vote thing - 0 VPs on the day. Alex WoisetschlÄger only had two rounds to fare better with his Karsh multi-rush, but he didn't. That guy with Depravity and an Assault Rifle for good measure was very scary, but also very expensive... Carl Pilhatsch, also from Vienna, had a Nosferatu Progeny/swarm bleeder that grabbed it's VP every table, but not more. Martin Weinmayer from Vienna managed to collect 2 GWs and 7 VPs in the two round he was able to play - very impressive indeed! He was playing his typical Tremere intercept deck with RÃtschreck tech. Unfortunately the deck was found to be illegal with 4 !Tre and 8 Tremere in the crypt, so he could accompany Carl and Alex on an early return drive to Vienna. Thanks for coming, guys! Thomas Gschwandtner profited from this and made it to the final with his locally renowned Anarch Aabbt Kindred vote deck. He had 1 GW from the second round, but generally suffered from the high vote environment. Markus Muerth gave himself the pleasure of sending Jaroslav Pascek equiped with diverse meelee weapons into the turmoil. As hardly anyone else played combat, he grabbed a Game Win in round 2 and made it to the final. Rui Videira fieled a no-bullshit Lasombra stealth bleeder. He grabbed a Game Win in his first round which was enough for being third into the final. Falco Haempel had a very oldschool Neo-Toreador vote deck. Also a collector of the odd VP, one Game Win in the third round placed him second into the final. I played a Lambach wall deck with War Ghouls and Dominate, missed the table win on my first round due to time-out, got almost slaughtered in the second where I made dirty deal for 1 VP and got 3 War Ghouls in the third to destroy all minions for the Game Win. I was highest seated into the final. Seating order was this: me (Lambach) => Rui (Lasombra) => Thomas (Aabbt) => Markus (Brujah) => Falco (Toreador) I choose to sit as Falco's prey because I had handled his deck well in the first round. I also speculated on 2 easy VPs because Thomas' only defense against Rui would be to backoust him. It sort of worked, but when I ousted Rui Falco played a Life Boon which allowed Rui to oust Thomas immediately. At this moment I was still afraid of Markus' deck, thinking that his kung-fu was better than mine, so although we both hammered on Rui I denied him an Anathema on Falco's Fleurdumal because I had Rui in reach and didn't want Markus to gain any pool. It was not to be: Falco Parity Shifted me and gave it to Rui, which allowed Rui to oust Markus. I was still in okay shape with Lambach and a ton of weenies, but never made a War Ghoul since my Revenants didn't show up. Which was bad, cause I needed the intercept - I missed blocking a crucial Dramatic Upheaval (from Falco) by 1 intercept, he switched places with me and dealt with Rui that the Lasombra (they were at 3 pool, Falco could oust them any time) would oust me first and concede afterwards. Thus it happened, I didn't find the Deflections I would have needed to survive Rui's bleeds, and I couldn't intercept him enough - I simply hepled him to cycle. Brillant play by Falco, Lasombra made all the ousts but he took 3 VPs for the win. Robert Mueller
